Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)

It is a endoscopic procedure which assess diseases of GI tract and nearby organs. Endoscope has ultrasound device at tip which uses sound waves to create images. It gives detailed images of the digestive tract and surrounding organs and tissues, including the pancreas, Liver, gall bladder, Lung and lymph nodes.

Various Therapeutic procedures can be done by EUS scope. Needle is inserted through suction channel to take cytology and biopsy . This procedure is called EUS-guided fine-needle aspiration or EUS-guided fine-needle biopsy. EUS-guided drainage can be done to drain cyst and collection.
